Museo Benini, the headquarters of the Benini Foundation, and the previous cultural institutions owned by the Beninis – The Benini Galleries and Sculpture Ranch in Johnson City, Texas (2000-2014) and THEARTFOUNDATION (1988-2000) in Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas, have been funded through the years totally by the sale of Benini’s artwork.
Benini and Lorraine are now focused on the future of Museo Benini. It is one of less than 300 single artist museums worldwide. Their expressed desire is for this 6500 sq.ft.museum they built near Marble Falls, Texas in 2015 to remain open in perpetuity to continue to serve its educational and cultural mission and programs.
To retain inventory for changing exhibitions of Benini’s work, sales are being slowed and priority for sales given to public institutions and museums. With this in mind, the Benini Foundation was successfully registered with the Texas Secretary of State as a public foundation in August, 2024, and in July, 2025, it earned a 501 (c) (3) from the IRS that, through fundraising, will allow the perpetuity of this museum, the research library, studios and archives.
The one mandate that Benini, as honorary chair, set before the board of directors was for the museum to always be open free of charge. And we plan to expand our visitation hours and programming.
If you, your corporation or foundation can join with us to fulfill this plan, it will expand our programming and further strengthen our goals as we continue to welcome students, creatives, and visitors.
